For over twelve years across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, I built a real estate practice that closed well over a billion dollars in career transactions. I accomplished this without viral videos, curated lifestyle feeds, or spending hours every day chasing online trends. In fact, for the vast majority of my career, I operated completely off social media.
While the industry pushed the narrative that an agent could not survive without a daily digital presence, I chose to focus entirely on core business fundamentals. My growth was driven by direct networking, mastering complex deal structures, building search technology, and executing at a high level for every client. When you consistently solve high-stakes real estate problems, your track record creates its own momentum through repeat clients and direct referrals.
My decision to return to social media was driven by a desire to scale that impact. The digital landscape has matured into a powerful direct-distribution network for market education and real-time solutions. Re-engaging online has allowed my business to flourish by expanding my reach to thousands of property owners at once. It has opened doors to new joint-venture partners, off-market sellers, and clients across Ontario who need specialized expertise.
Rather than spreading my focus across every platform, I intentionally prioritize the channels that match how I communicate. LinkedIn serves as my primary space for professional engagement, allowing me to connect with investors, legal experts, and industry colleagues on complex investment strategies and acquisition models. YouTube provides the ideal format for long-form market education, giving me the time and depth needed to break down complicated real estate concepts for serious buyers and sellers. Meanwhile, Instagram and X function as efficient real-time communication lines for sharing quick market updates and connecting directly with homeowners.
Building a billion-dollar track record offline proved that long-term success in real estate always comes down to market knowledge, execution, and client trust. Leveraging social media today simply amplifies that proven foundation, allowing me to solve bigger challenges and serve clients on a much larger scale.
